Summer Solstice is upon us, the longest day of the year, the container of the most amount of light, so we need to celebrate. Remember that it is the cusp of a transition from a time of darkness to a time of light and it also begins the turn from long days to short ones. In other words, it’s a time of change.
Here are some suggestions for practices you can do to celebrate and harness the energy of this potent day:
Summer Solstice Diffuser Blend
3 drops Lavender
3 drops Cypress
2 drops Basil
2 drops Rosemary
Let’s go through why these oils are perfect for the solstice. First of all I have included Cypress, the oil of movement and flow. It is the oil for releasing all that no longer serves and inviting in what you dream to manifest. It is a very powerful energy mover so make sure to open some windows to let the energy flow freely in and out of your space when you diffuse it. Lavender is the oil of communication and it also is one of the oils for Leo, a summer astrological sign. It offers potent communication support, but also will help you feel less anxiousness during this time of transition. Not surprisingly, Lavender thrives in the summer heat and yet it’s a wonderful topical support for skin that has been exposed to too much sun. Basil is the oil of renewal and supports all sorts of anxiousness and exhaustion. Transitions are hard, awakening to the long day of light is not easy. Basil is there for your support. Basil is a tropical herb that loves the sun and so eating it during the summer is par for the course. Finally, Rosemary, the oil of knowledge and transition, is the perfect compliment to the other oils as it helps you ride the waves of this day. The clarity that Rosemary provides can help you hone in on what to manifest during the summer season.
Some other suggestions for rituals during the solstice are:
1.) Use crystals such as citrine and calcite for manifesting, and red jasper or hematite for grounding.
2.) Write down all that you wish to manifest in the coming six months so you can revisit it during the winter solstice. Be clear and write in the present tense. Phrases should say “I am” rather than “I will be.” Be very specific and intentional. There is potent energy in the cosmos for manifesting, don’t miss the opportunity to harness that.
3.) Start a new meditation or yoga or wellness ritual. I like to suggest two drops of Copaiba oil under the tongue in the morning, Balance oil on your feet and Neroli on your heart. Try a 5-10 minute daily meditation practice. Make it simple and one you can stick to every day. Write down daily gratitudes and successes. Drink extra water as the summer is hot and dry.
4.) Plant a warm weather flower in your garden to give back to the Earth. Celebrating her transition along with your own. I suggest some sunflower seeds.
I hope these are helpful tips for this magical day. Let me know how you like the blend and what rituals you start on the solstice. May the light of the sun shine upon you all summer long. -xx
