#findyourwings: Day??? Gratitude Month Giveaway #1 THANK YOU

To say “thank you”  I am doing a month of giveaways, one a week all November. Each will last only one week so you be sure you check back every seven days.


My first giveaway goes in conjunction with my practice for the month:  keeping a gratitude journal.  Every day of November I will be giving you prompts on my Facebook page about things which you can find gratitude.  Some will be obvious (friends, family, health) others will be more challenging.  My hope is that all of us (myself included) will grow from the practice and find an appreciation for all the good and the difficult in our lives.




For the first of the four giveaways in November, one lucky entrant will get a copy of the Gratitude Journal I will be using for my month of gratitude (and hopefully for many months to come).  This thick and inspiring book offers much space for words and thoughts, but also provides quotes to give you a jumping off place for your writing.  My hope is that the winner will find the practice of writing down things he/she is grateful for very rewarding and will continue it after November is passed.

In addition to thanking my readers, this first giveaway will be a big thank you to some of my supporting friends and fellow writers/yogis/companies.  Please follow the directions for entering very carefully so you can be qualified and so you can learn about the people who are really special to me.  Here is the scoop on giveaway #1:

What:  One participant will win a Gratitude Journal identical to the one I will be using and prompting you from all month long.  This beautiful book will serve as a launching point for his/her gratitude practice.  Participants can be from ANYWHERE it is not limited to US residents only!

How: To be entered you MUST all of do the following:

    I am grateful that I have the ability to be grateful for the small things without painful nudges today, to notice how beautiful the sky is, gray or not gray, to be in gratitude for life.

    And I’m grateful for people like Yoga Betty, and all yoga teachers offering classes on donation basis, you’re trying to make the world a better place, one breath at a time.

    Today I am grateful to welcome a new family member – my nephew and his wife had a beautiful, healthy baby girl!

    I am thankful for all the wonderful yoga teachers I have had in my life (including you!) who have kept me grounded, encouraged me to fly, challenged me to both give my best effort and then complete surrender, and reminded me to continue my practice off the mat.

    I am grateful that I have a few days this week to spend with my mom, (who is showing signs of dementia), and will be 86 on thanksgiving day.

    I am grateful for inspirational yoginis, such as Nancy & Yoga Betty, as well as my local yoga teachers.

    I am grateful for my foster mother, who showed me what it means to love a daughter unconditionally even if you’re not blood related. And who also showed me how to use my voice, embrace vulnerability, and how rewarding it is to show my true colors. She will always be my rock, my biggest cheerleader, and woman I aspire to be most like.
